They are used to build fiber interferometers, or with fiber fused splitters to measure back reflection within fiber optic components. They can also be used to measure the sensitivity of sources to back reflection from other devices, by providing reference reflection levels. This is very useful for deriving back reflection specifications for transmitters.

PM Fiber Mirror Reflector consist of a PM fiber optic collimator and a mirror. The design reflectivity of the mirror itself is >99%, but due to the insertion loss of the fiber coupling of the collimator, we distinguish several mirrors with different reflectivity.
